We get to meet some great people at our store and one of the sharpest, nicest and most interesting was Leslie Cartwright. Les was a radio operator in the British Air Force in World War 2 and participated in the daylight raids over Germany. He managed to get back every time although many of his friends did not. After the war he wrote radio plays for BBC and when he moved to Canada CBC. He also wrote books. At 89 years old he was still going strong on his computer, writing and submitting books for publication. When he came into the store a few years ago for the first time to get a new computer he said that it was “So he could get his books and radio plays published to make sure his wife was taken care of when he was gone.” Les passed away December 1st 2012. We’ll miss you Les. Godspeed wherever you are.
